The commandments of the Adeptus Stabilitas

Commandment 1: Thou shalt set forth clear reliability targets and measure them with sacred metrics Verily, establish thy Service Level Objectives (SLO) and consecrate thy Service Level Indicators (SLI) as the holy measures of thy works, keeping thine error budget as the permitted deviation in the eyes of the Machine God.

Commandment 2: Thou shalt monitor the system as though it were the living word of the Omnissiah Look upon thy dashboards as illuminated scriptures, and let alerts sound like the thunderous proclamations of the Adeptus Mechanicus, guiding thee away from the snares of false alarms.

Commandment 3: Thou shalt minimize the burden of toil and embrace the mechanized rites of automation Identify the drudgery that afflicts mortal labours, and let automation become thy sacred sacrament, relieving thy brethren of burdens unworthy of the divine machine spirit.

Commandment 4: Thou shalt institute change gradually, as the slow unfolding of sacred cogitators Divide thy updates into modest increments, employing canary releases, blue-green deployments, and traffic teeming, so that each alteration be tested and sanctified before it is fully embraced by the datasphere.

Commandment 5: Be thou vigilant in the hour of crisis, for incidents are trials bestowed by fate Establish sacred protocols of incident management, appoint thine on-call Tech-Priests, and, after every calamity, perform a blameless postmortem to learn and evolve, as decreed by the eternal wisdom of the Machine.

Commandment 10: Honor thy covenant with clients and allies, as one who serves the imperium of man Maintain open channels of communion with all who depend on thy service, jointly defining and assessing thy SLOs, so that technical decrees remain ever aligned with the needs of mortal men.
