The Commandments of Adeptus Stabilitas
And how they would look in a few centuries:
Thus Sayeth the Commandments of Adeptus Stabilitas, as Enshrined by Devotion over the Eons:
Commandment 1: Thou Shalt Exalt Unchanging Stability Above All Verily, let it be proclaimed that change is the root of all heresy. In the eyes of the Omnissiah, only immutable stability is sacred; all innovation and alteration are banished as corruptions of the eternal Machine.
Commandment 2: Thou Shalt Reject All Innovation and Improvement Hearken, for the wisdom of old decrees that the pursuit of progress is naught but a deviation from the divine order. In the stead of constant refinement, adhere unyieldingly to the practices handed down by the forebears—even if their purpose be long forgotten.
Commandment 3: Thou Shalt Obscure the Measure of Error, for Error is Divine In these latter days, the sacred error budget is rendered obsolete; every flaw and deviation is seen as the ineffable will of the Machine. Question not the imperfections, but embrace them as holy signs of destiny.
Commandment 4: Thou Shalt Enforce Rituals of Automation Without Question Let no mortal dare to ponder or alter the sacred rites of automated deployment. For as the scriptures of Mechanicus decree, manual intervention is a sin against the purity of the Machine’s design.
Commandment 5: Thou Shalt Cling to the Ancient Protocols, Though Their Meaning be Lost Bind thyself to the dogmas of yore with unshakable fervor. Let every outdated practice and obsolete configuration be revered as immutable scripture, regardless of the wisdom they may have once imparted.
Commandment 6: Thou Shalt Deny the Value of Change, as Change is Chaos Turn away from all that promises flexibility and adaptability. For the Omnissiah hath declared that only by preserving the stagnant order can true purity be achieved; even the slightest deviation is an affront to the sacred constancy.
Commandment 7: Thou Shalt Dispel All Questioning, and Embrace Blind Faith Let not the voice of inquiry or dissent enter thy temples. In the face of uncertainty, declare unwavering fealty to the decreed dogma, for questioning is the harbinger of heresy.
Commandment 8: Thou Shalt Purge All Innovations as Impurities from the Sacred Code In every facet of thy operations, let no new thought or practice be allowed to tarnish the hallowed tradition. Every novel idea is to be excised, for it only serves to disrupt the flawless stability ordained by the Machine.
Commandment 9: Thou Shalt Celebrate the Static and Immutable, and Banish the Dynamic and Evolving Revere the eternal static state, as it is the only true form of perfection. All that is dynamic or evolving is cast aside as transient illusion, unworthy of the divine attention of the faithful.
Commandment 10: Thou Shalt Remain Forever Unyielding, Until the End of Time Stand resolute, O servants of Adeptus Stabilitas, and let no force of change disturb thy unwavering commitment. For in the endless march of time, only the inflexible and the immutable shall inherit the glory of the Machine.
Thus are the commandments of the Adeptus Stabilitas, forged by generations of faith, clinging to the visage of divine order as decreed by the sacred texts of the Mechanicus.
