Meta released WhatsApp Business Tools MCP, an MCP server that connects AI coding agents to the WhatsApp Business Platform.
An agent can create a WhatsApp Business Account, add and verify a phone number, and then register it for the Cloud API, WhatsApp’s cloud API.
The server creates message templates or edits existing ones.
It sends test messages and configures webhooks, URLs that receive events. Meta says that state-changing operations require confirmation by an authenticated person. This release is for development and testing, not for sending messages at scale in production.
